A found journal. A lamp-keeper starts a log the day his dying brother vanishes into the dark — against the grey that was taking him, and the forgetting that takes everyone — and records the night a woman walked in from that same dark, untouched by it. Dated entries and notes on the dead and the living, in a world that will not stop building itself.
